On Tuesday, November 21, the St. Agnes Community welcomed over 120 guests for our annual Grandparents & Special Friends Day. This special event began with a "Turkey Talk" reception for our guests which included a performance by our band and choir groups. Our entire community then celebrated the extraordinary blessing of our grandparents with a joyous prayer service that was held in the St. Agnes lower Church. And as if we needed more smiles, we returned to the Parish Activity Center for a memorable prayer partner production where our older student-younger student prayer partner groups presented entertaining songs, dances and poems which brought smiles to the faces of everyone in attendance.
If you passed by Old Frederick Road on Friday afternoon, you likely heard the chant "When the BEARS Rock the House" loudly ring throughout our Activity Center. The cheer was just part of our Spirit Rally that offered a festive and exciting conclusion to an amazing week on campus. In keeping with our monthly theme - Call to family, Community and Participation - this week the St. Agnes community offered a lesson on each branch of the military during our daily Community Meeting. Our 8th grade and PreK 3 and PreK 4 Prayer Partner group led the event. Included as part of the presentation was displaying the flag, the song and the historical background to the branch that was being honored during that particular day. What a wonderful way to teach our young people about the military organizations which serve and protect our country.
