The Christmas Season Calls us to Serve
The week leading up to Christmas offered our young people a variety of opportunities
BEAR NATION used the week leading up to Christmas as an opportunity to share a bit of the holiday joy with the needy in our local community. On Tuesday, December 19th, our Cherubs and Choir groups brought their harmonious voices to the residents at both St. Elizabeth's and St. Martin's Place as they performed a concert for the wonderful women and men of these two assisted living centers. Then on Wednesday, December 20th our 6th Grade assembled 120 bagged meals for our monthly "Lunches with Love" program that benefits the gentlemen at the Westside Men's Shelter. And before the day would end, our Student Council had finished wrapping 30 gift boxes for the "Seafarers Shoebox Project". This school-wide project provided shoeboxes filled with personal care items, individually written greeting cards to the seafarers, journals, playing cards and countless other mementos and treats. These care packages served as a reminder during the holiday season to each of the mariners that visit the Port of Baltimore that the love of our human family extends far past the Chesapeake Bay waters that bring our guests to Charm City on boats and barges.
St. Agnes School is forming the virtue of heart in our young people as they learn to respond to the call of Service Above Self.
